Welcome to the parish of St Minver, on the North Coast of Cornwall.  The parish contains the villages of St Minver, Rock, Trebetherick, Polzeath, Porteath, Port Quin, Tredrissick and Penmain.  There are three churches with associated churchyards St Michael's, St Enedoc, St Menefreda.  The area is a popular holiday spot for water sports on the Camel Estuary.  The Doom Bar in the estuary and the rocks on Atlantic coast led to many wrecks.  There is a passenger ferry across the Camel from Rock to Padstow.

Whilst researching my own family tree, I discovered that both of my parents had ancestors who had lived in St Minver for centuries.  They left the parish for the bigger towns and cities in the mid to late 19th century.  I don't live in Cornwall but visit as often as possible.  It is intended that this site will be a resource for those wishing to discover more about their ancestors who lived in St Minver and the history of the parish itself. 

I am Online Parish Clerk for St Minver and will endeavour to answer all questions within 7 days.  I am also building a database for St Minver Folk, (1558 to 1901), using Family Tree Maker. There are currently 12,000 individuals on the database. Anyone appearing in the Parish Registers, buried in the graveyard, staying in St Minver on census nights between 1841 and 1901 and other documents (books and newspapers) is included.
